Ubisoft’sFor Honorwas released back in 2017 and while the game did fairly well, it was no blockbuster. The game’s reviews on Metacritic remain rather average. After seven years, the game is not pulling as many gamers as before but that has not stopped the developers from adding more content to the game.
A new warrior has entered the game and is one that’s fully armored, showcased by a teaser released by the developers. The new warrior will be added as part ofFor Honor‘s Year 7 Season 4 update which is scheduled to release on the 1st of February which is just two days away.
Ubisoft Adds New, Fully-Armored Warrior in For Honor
Ubisoft’s Season 4 update will be released on Thursday and will feature a fully-armored warrior, the Varangian Guard as the developers continue their efforts to try and keep the game relevant. The warrior is teased in the latest gameplaytrailer.
For Honor‘s warriors aren’t known to be fully armored right from when the game was released. So, Varangian Guard’s armored look is a refreshing change and the developers will hope this will be enough to pull more gamers to the title.
At the moment, the game rarely gets more than 4,500 gamers playing the game on Steam. Steam charts have the game hitting a peak of 225,831 players more than 6 years ago. The addition of a new warrior and other regular content shows Ubisoft’s dedication to the game even if it’s slowly but surely sliding away from memory.
Varangian Guard was first announced last week with a foggy teaser revealing the warrior’s complete look, in full armor wielding an axe and a shield. An official gameplay trailer was released on the 25th of this month, revealing the guard in more detail.
Varangian Guard Will Cost $7.99 or 15,000 Steel
The official website has moredetailsabout the guard being available for players to purchase on the 1st of February for $7.99 as a bundle. The bundle will also include one Ornament, one Elite Outfit, seven days of Champion Status, and finally, three scavenger crates.
Players can also unlock the warrior for 15,000 Steels, the in-game currency. Steels can be earned by completing activities or purchased in-game. Apart from warriors, Steel can be used to unlock equipment as well.
There will also be exclusive, limited-time rewards available for players between the 1st of February to the 22nd of February. Players will have a chance to win ornaments, effect among other things. The fully-armored look of the Varangian Guard is said to be inspired by a fusion of Norse and Byzantine Viking cultures.
It will be interesting to see if there’s a noticeable spike in the number of gamers logging in to play the game in the first week after the update hits the game. In other news from the studio, the highly-anticipated game,Skull and Bonesis entering the Open Beta stage soon and fans will be hoping the game revives Ubisoft even more.
