With its 1.0 release,7 Days to Diehas become the hottest game within the multiplayer survival genre, incorporating nearly 12 years’ worth of feedback, updates, and community support to finally give players a complete and fully fleshed-out product.

Despite its successful launch, it appears that the game’s release isn’t quite as polished across different platforms, with a few kinks that still require ironing out. One of these bugs, especially on Xbox, is more than a simple nuisance, though, being capable of completely wiping all your work and progress.
Don’t Name Any of the Storage Boxes in 7 Days to Die on Xbox
While players of the game on PC and PlayStation arebusy devising the most creative tricks for survival, Xbox players are struggling to keep their in-game world’s progress safe and secure.
As pointed out on the game’s subreddit, a bug specific to the platform is capable of completely wiping out players’ hard-earned items, deleting hours’ worth of progress without warning.

Going through the thread, it seems that the issue stems from players’ ability to name their storage boxes. The likeliest cause of this is Xbox’s profanity filter, which is whyThe Fun Pimpshave advised against naming the boxes and using other means of storage for the time being.

That said, for people that have already named their boxes and are now worried about what will happen to all their work, the most straightforward fix would be to create a new unnamed box and transfer all your items to it and wait till The Fun Pimps deploys a“7 Days to Die Chest Fix”of sorts.

Now,while a few players remain unhappywith how the game has turned out with its 1.0 release, it is pretty crucial to remember that The Fun Pimps has done a ton of work in fixing and developing their game to this point.
Let’s not forget that the game has always had a rather tumultuous history with bugs and glitches, especially during the 12-year-long early access period. However, the Fun Pimps have always been proactive in ironing them out.

From minor bugs like floating objects to glitches that break the game altogether, they have always stuck by this project, ensuring that it arrives at the finish line as a game deserving of its dedicated community.
Keeping that in mind, the storage box issue will most likely be fixed soon. Although losing some faith in the game after its full release is somewhat justified, it is important to give the devs a chance to continue improving and iterating on the game.
