What many might not realize is that this scene was reportedly inspired by a real-life incident involving Seunghyun, better known as T.O.P. from the iconic K-pop group BIGBANG.
Well even if not inspired, some fans made the connection that during a rap battle performance against GD on a Korean variety show, T.O.P famously blanked on his lyrics, creating a moment that went viral. The scene in the series feels like a playful callback to this real-life mishap.

Although Thanos didn’t survive until the end, his character brought plenty of laughs and lighthearted moments to the otherwise grim show. With his mix of over-the-top confidence and occasional cluelessness, he ended up becoming the character people loved to hate, cementing himself asone of the most entertaining additions, this season. If not for his rapping skills, then certainly for his ability to turn a blunder into comedy gold made people his fan!
Looking back at Choi Seunghyun’s career as a K-Pop star, T.O.P.!
T.O.P. started his music journey as an underground rapper before joining YG Entertainment, home to massive K-POP groups like BLACKPINK, and becoming a member of BIGBANG in 2006. Over the next decade, the group delivered hit after hit, with T.O.P. shining not just as a performer but also as a lyricist and composer, even co-writing their 2022 singleStill Life, his final bow with the group.
As a solo artist, he made waves with tracks like the swagger-filledTurn It Up(2010), a Top 2 Korean hit, and the eccentricDoom Dada(2013), which charted at number three on Billboard’s World Digital Songs.

In early 2022, T.O.P surprised fans by leaving YG Entertainment and the music scene entirely. A year later, in May 2023, he revealed he had shifted gears, focusing on acting, and judging by his character work, it was a move that suited him well! Fans are eagerly waiting to see more of him in the future!
